Hi

"What Does 'Agree' Mean?"

As Dgj points out, engagement with language can be quite problematic. My favorite is "conduct based" which is applied to continuing sanctions against Iraq, Iran, Syria and others. :-)

On Tuesday I did a workshop at the 18th International Conference on Violence, Abuse, and Truama (IVAT) on The Clinical Gaze Critique in Action HERE with Jancis Long, and Chris Zubiate of Psynergy. The language engagement relates to "diagnostic behavior" and our back-up argumentation goes to Foucault's "clinical gaze" critique and also to its implementation in the "madness" dynamism as described by medical anthropology. FWIW Paula Caplan did a plenary presentation there that also engaged "diagnostic behavior" from her language of advocacy (see HERE).

[While] I don't know how PsySR would care to present the words so as not to "lose meaning," still I'd like to call attention to the ongoing work in producing a more socially responsible psychology through the National Partnership to End Interpersonal Violence HERE. It seems to me to be fitting that deeper engagement there would move forward various aspects of the ongoing work here: For PsySR; when the organization is ready, I'm actually expecting that to occur

Best

Andrew
