Fine poem: However you miss the "gulag" side of the "evil legacy" concern. When Mikhail Bakhtin lived in exile in Kazakhstan, just outside the Gulag, he had to address that sociohistorical behavior pattern from a different framework. His works, and those of Vygotsky and Luria, give credit to the profession's history. Carl Ratner spoke to the "shreds of dignity" ideation in his workshop at PsySR UDC 2003.

ABO "Andrew Behavior Object"

I have no guilt, chagrin, remorse
for my refusal to endorse
the use of sly psychology
to torture foes sadistically
because it has occurred to me
it’s an immoral policy
and leaves an evil legacy
for our profession\'b9s history.
Let’s reinstate morality
and salvage shreds of dignity.
