Subject: [S-ACC] reaching upwards

HiOn Wednesday Jennifer Freyd spoke at De Anza College. That was a reach that brought the "madness" and "social responsibility" conversation about "making the system behave" closer to the center of the institution.
On Thursday I participated in campus activities. By contrast, regarding "institutional betrayal," Dr. Philip Zimbardo gave a talk that day, about "becoming a psychologist," at the campus auditorium: here. I talked with students who were entering there regarding a "different perspective" on becoming a psychologist.
On Friday I attended the "Madness Radio Book Launch" in Oakland, CA, where I was able to connect with the client/survivor movement in an activist networking framework. Aspects of the movement as that arises anew came forward in a good way.
On Saturday I attended a presentation by Black Panther Party co-founder Bobby Seale at Merritt College in Oakland: here. There I was able to reach upwards in the flavor of "building a movement" and transcend my tasting of "move the professionals" in a frame aimed towards critical upgrade more directly in the line of the politics of social change.
