Subject: [S-ACC] support for Women's March Jan. 21

On January 21st, there will be a Women's March in Washington D.C. and local marches in many places in the U.S.: See here for more detail. A large turnout is expected, and there are currently over 100 "partner" organizations involved.
One group that has signed up as a "partner" is Psychologists for Social Responsibility, I'm proud to say. They should be a meaningful part of the feminist dialogue under current conditions - and IMHO so should the Social Accountability Work Group.
We are people, not "mentally ill" objects, and the "partner" role for the march would help sustain that perspective. Aligning with the oppressed status of women links in an "intersectional" way with our advocacy, albeit that arrangement does not achieve - by itself - the reconciliation we must seek for our "second class" or subsidiary status.
Should there be no serious opposition to the "Work Group" signup as "partner," I plan to submit an application approx. next Wednesday. Activists involved with our group might be encouraged to carry banners and otherwise participate and speak up, at the national or again the local marches.
