Subject: Re: [psysr-disc] interesting crowd-fund request for FBI file of physicist-activist
William Davidon was my Physics teacher at Haverford College in 1964-5. He helped me to deal with the psychology of the Mathematics Dept. .. I was a math major.
You are right regarding the social responsibility issue. Where we need to go, is to engage the truth of social justice as Prof. Davidon did, which I will report [was] concrete and practical and linked to the tradition of Quaker pacifism.

Thank you for this info Gec. They've already reached their goal on the fundraising. Davidon was the lead on the FBI break-in in Media, PA in 1971 and the story was finally told in the book released early this year: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/07/us/burglars-who-took-on-fbi-abandon-shadows.html

I have never heard of William Davidon. He would be a good biography project for a thesis project and publication. Also, the contents of the FBI file would be the basis for important scholarly work. It is amazing how many unsung heroes there are, unknown, in our own society. I hope the crowd funding works.
