Hi

When attending Boston Alternatives, I saw SAMHSA was no longer funding the version of Alternatives that obtains; I also saw that the activist group in charge (NEC) was working a project to fund and engage the following year.

What I understood was I needed to "re-work" advocacy in a socially accountable way, and the above meant new social dynamics would reach to the "grassroots" problematic of "institutional shift."

Next Wednesday my community college student club is showing the film "1971" (trailer at 1971film.com) which shows the March 8, 1971 break-in which led to the exposure of the polity of "COINTELPRO" - under the rubric "Kindness and Responsibility." Flyer  HERE

The concern for "intersectionality" and bringing the struggle against the oppression system of "behavioral health" into closer alignment with parallel (and more recognized) struggles against oppression has moved my activism thus: I also look to see how that direction affects colleagues and fellow activists.

In solidarity

Andrew
