Subject: [S-ACC] possible workshop Alternatives 2017

Sent: Sunday, March 12, 2017 5:58 PM

I'm starting to imagine a workshop for Alternatives 2017 (Boston, August 18-21). I'm working to the concern for oppression and reconciliation, and that means up front sensitive engagement with people's activism and building the "social roles" of responsible activists.

Jancis Long has agreed to come in with me and I'd be pleased if others might contact me regarding their interest in presenting with us. The application deadline is Friday, March 17, so immediate response is requested.

Below I have a draft abstract, which will surely require revision as matters proceed. The title is "The Paths to Safety" and the idea is to strengthen our capacities to be "complete persons."

50 word abstract (draft)

People find problems being themselves fully and safely. Healing communities involve social risks that impede people's beings. Panelists will speak to personal experience and individual participants invited to speak to their "unsafety" and discuss responsible ways to do better: We help construct paths to safety and upgrade the "client culture."
