CLASSROOM CODE OF CONDUCT Creating a proper teaching environment is the cornerstone of getting a good education. Everyone at San José City College is responsible for helping to create this environment, including students. Simple rules of courtesy apply. Students are expected to show respect for the instructor and the other students while demonstrating academic honesty. Employers in the workplace require this courtesy, respect, and honesty as well. The community college is not an extension of high school, but a step toward higher education where students will earn the competencies and skills they will need for their future. The following are a list of guidelines for student conduct in the classroom and that apply to the workplace as well:
Lack of honesty in the classroom or the workplace is considered a serious offense. The consequences of cheating at SJCC are severe and may include the possibility of expulsion. The following would be grounds for disciplinary action:
